The Mad Mind of Author Thomas S. Flowers

Live. Laugh. Scream.

Tommy Author Picture - MonstersGreeting and welcome. Before you dig into the many articles and reviews offered here, allow me to tell you a little bit about the guy writing the books and the blog. I’m not a native Texan, but I like to call Houston home. I served in the U.S. Army. Due to my occupation, I have traveled somewhat broadly, to  Chicksands, England, Busan, and Seoul, South Korea, Roanoke, Virginia, Ft. Hood, Tikrit and Baghdad, Iraq, all over Texas, and now residing in Houston.  I’m also no stranger to the Appalachian Mountains nor the white sand beaches of Florida. I am happily married to a very loving, patient, and beautiful woman, she is my personal adviser in many things and she is my most vocal cheerleader. We have a daughter who amazes me every day with her intelligence and her love for nerdy things, including TMNT and “scary story’s!”

“The delicate narrative is beautifully enhanced by Flowers’ writing style. The perfect metaphors are used at the perfect moments, not only to invoke terror, but to also allow the reader to live and breathe Flowers’ prose. One can only describe this anthology as ‘fine literature.’ Yes, some of the stories fall into the Splatterpunk genre, while others tend to evoke emotion on a much more psychological level – think Stephen King meets Brian Keene” -Horror Novel Reviews.

“Mr. Flowers has a deep appreciation of both history, and of the human condition, along its rather vast continuum. His horror I categorize as ‘literate horror,’ as it rises above simple splatter for splatter’ s sake. Each story subtly burrows into the reader’s mind and roots there, refusing to be dislodged. I find myself trying to find comparisons, unsuccessfully, because Thomas S. Flowers maintains a class all his own” -The Haunted Reading Room.

“The Hobbsburg Horror delivers an array of stories that show a darkly paranormal side to society. It hints at things beyond the limits of what we are aware of around us. I hear whispers in the dark as I read these stories which only serves to propel me farther into the book. Of everything he has published to date, this is probably my favorite offering from Thomas S. Flowers” -Confessions of a Reviewer.
